ARTIST & MAKER

Howdy! I’m Brad LaMotte, an Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I teach Intro to Technical Theatre, Intro to Theatrical Design, and Scenery & Properties Design.

In my teaching, I place a strong emphasis on building relationships with my students. I believe that connection is key to creating a learning environment where everyone feels valued and supported. My classroom is designed to be a space for creative exploration without fear of judgment, where diversity of thought and background is celebrated, and every student has the freedom to experiment and grow.

I keep things approachable, light-hearted, and filled with humor, which helps make the design process a fun and engaging experience. I’m also a firm believer that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Originally from Central Texas, I now call Nebraska home with my two wonderful daughters. Outside of the classroom and theatre, I love building furniture, working with wood, and entertaining Texans with Illumination Fireworks. Art and design are a big part of who I am, and I’m passionate about sharing that with my students.
